You may have noticed that there have been no Bowcam pictures recently. The reason for that is the demise of the camera during an adventurous trip to the top of the Great Ouse river. At least, as far as navigation is possible. In fact, the end is far more suitable for a rowing boat or a canoe, rather than a narrowboat, but we made it. This short time-lapse video tells the story, at least as far as the camera failure:
The point at which the camera ceased was during the second attempt to turn the boat – you will notice the river is rather narrow. In the event, some tricky reversing was necessary before a third attempt was successful. Lots of leaves, branches and a few scratches (which almost polished out) were obtained.
The camera will be on a hiatus until I can repair the lead which snapped when the unit was knocked off the top of the boat. There were also some very low bridges, which we only managed to get under after removing the top of the chimney and lowering the data antenna. We both had to duck right down to avoid colliding with the bridges – we only had about three inches to spare.
the amazon next??? Never a dull day!!!

Looks like the bough of the tree claimed the bough camera
