Having made the journey from Sharpness down to Portishead, the next day we had to complete the second part of the trip to Bristol. This time on our own as no pilot is available for this leg. We set off with a little trepidation.

Many thanks to Rob for the photos of our arrival at Bristol.
We finally managed to make the trip down the tidal Severn Estuary to Bristol. The trip took around 5 hours in total and although we recorded the whole journey, we clearly could not post such a long video – and you would not want to watch it if we did!
It was not practical to edit it down while we were on the boat, but now that we are once more ashore, I have been able to complete the task. This first video is a record of the leg from Sharpness to Portishead. Soon, I will post the second video of the journey from Portishead up into Bristol itself. For now though, you can share some of the experience with us:
Click on the square icon, lower right on the video when running, to view fullscreen, or the three dots to download it for later, offline viewing.
This is the last tunnel of our recent trip. It is the Tardebigge tunnel on the Worcester and Birmingham canal, and I thought you might like to share some of the experience. It took a total of 7 minutes to travel the whole way through, but I have removed the middle bit as the camera really could not see much.
You can look 360° around us. Just use your finger to drag the image on a touch screen, or left click and drag using your touchpad or mouse. The video starts with a side view, so you will need to drag the image round to see forwards or backwards.
