We finally managed to get on the move again last Thursday, after being laid up for 3 1/2 days. You can see from this photo where the water level on the Weaver normally is. At times, over the last few days, the water has been half way up the bollard.
We also travelled up onto the Trent and Mersey canal on the Anderton Lift last Thursday, and are now at Middlewich, heading south towards Stoke on Trent and Birmingham. Canals don’t flood (under normal circumstances) because they have overflows, so apart from closures for urgent repairs and fallen trees, we should be able to keep travelling for now.
