The King Charles Tower (aka The Phoenix Tower). Called so because legend has it on the 24th of September 1645, King Charles stood on the tower and watched his army defeated in the battle of Rowton Moor.
As you can see, we are moored right below the city walls, which are in great condition. You can walk on top of most of the wall, which surrounded the old city. The city itself is amazing. More to follow another day – when we return.
